Because completely maxed out it chokes my G73JH. Have you found the compromise already? Which settings do you use for smooth gameplay?

I must admit though, never saw such detailed indoor enviroments, it blowed me away. Feels so real, especially with tesselation enabled.

I don't play it but I just came to say that metro 2033 maxed out destroy even desktop computers (which are quite more powerful than G73) so don't feel that bad :p

I'm not a gamer, but I thought I read somewhere around here that Metro 2033 is more of a Nvidia specific game?

I can't get it to run smooth with DX11 but there is at least one forum member saying DX11 w/high settings works really well for them.

My setting for Metro 2033 is place it in the garbage.

It's a terrible game, I'd suggest playing something else that has more to offer than game crushing settings that don't actually improve gameplay or even appearance for that matter. Characters and monsters don't walk right, they float... it's horrible to look at. The facial animation is the worst I've seen in almost a decade since HL2 crushes it and that game is ancient now. The lighting system while maybe advanced is terrible, it washes out colors, it's blinding at times and overall terrible. The colors in the game are atrocious. Yeah yeah in the tunnel and dank areas, but even they have more colors and the colors chosen are just weird, brownish weird gray. Metro 2033 is the dumps and deserves to remain in the dump.

I admit to having more fun playing MLB2K10 and Dark Void than Metro 2033.
