I have an Asus N10j, and when I have HDMI setup on my tv, when I play a movie with VLC or a video on youtube, the audio goes through the HDMI, however when I play itunes, it goes to my computer speakers/whatever I have pugged into the headphone jack.
Any idea how to get it to play music through the HDMI?

I had the same issue, you have to go to your control panel > Sound settings> then find the right tab and change settings to Nvidia HDMI output rather that Realtek

As X2P said, you need to change the output to digital/HDMI instead of the default analog output.
