    Hi guys,
i have just purchased asus m6 laptop, i really like it so far, everything works great except the sound,
the audio drivers shipped in the cd with the notebook doesn't work proberly.
i am on windows xp sp2, i downloaded the last version from realtek and asus websites and tried it and it didn't work too, i reinstalled windows again and same problem still,
Did anyone faced same problem, or anyone has any idea about a solution for this ?
hope i find a reply cause so far i didnt hear any sound from my new laptop :(

First you may want to check that the drivers for the sound card have installed properly ie there are no "?" in the device manager.
Then check that the volume is turned up in the audio control panel. I know that sounds stupid, but I have often wondered why my sound wasnt working and for some reason the volume was all the way down for one of the parameters.
Also maybe check if headphones work, ie is the problem with the speakers or with audio in general.

    Underpantman finally posts!

5 posts since October! Must of been busy!

Regarding the issue, it could be some silly mistake, or a driver problem. The silly mistake is usually my problem :p

Make sure that FN+F10 makes sound turn on, or FN+F12 to turn it up

Nice to hear from you again, Underpantman :D

I agree with what has been suggested... there are MANY volume controls on a computer; check to make sure none of them are turned down and/or muted.

    Hey there Underpantman! :)

As for the sound issue, I'd try doing a Windows Update - or, you could try the new "Microsoft Update" - it does your whole computer, works pretty good, I am using it. I did an update, and it found new sound drivers for me, so I installed those, and they work great ;)
