Just came to check on some news when the first thing I see is this:

    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4089

Featuring a 15" notebook that can be tricked out with an 8800GTX and a 17" with 8800GTX SLI. This should make any Asus C90S owner a little excited :D

Oh yeah baby, although mine is gonna burn. But maybe not, the 8800GT has a similar cooling than the 8600GTS

Hey, isn't me or the 8800MGTX is weaker than the 8800GTS spec wise? (well, same but 256bits versus 320)

...come to think of it, when has Asus ever delivered a high end video card? I'm not trying to cast doubt, its just there has never been a 7800 or high on an Asus.

It would be a real shame considering the power of the C90.

It seems to based on the 8800GT, so it will likely be faster than a 8800GTS (the G80 on, not the G92 one) if it's clocked the same as 8800GT.

I'm going off of the "interview" with milestone which they said an 8800 would go in it. Also the key parts list says 5 gpus. The point is we were promised upgrades so lets see what happens.

Yeah it seems to be more powerful than the gts so thats exciting news.

Do you have a link to that interview? This is great news that could mean the C90s and that Sager with the q6600 could be the 2 most powerful notebooks out there and the C90s 15.4"

Yeah, it is very very old. Let me try to find it. I trust it because in it milestone said Asus said there will be 5 cards for the c90 by january 2008 and when someone found the c90 key parts list there were 5 gpu codes listed under it. Let me look. I'll edit when I find the thread.

    Edit: BAM! Found it:

yeah i heard were getting a 8800m gtx for c90s from another website that was translated from thai or whatever. Im trying to search my history because i read it before class today. from what i hear the reason were getting one is because of the new 45nm chipset or whatever. smaller chip that runs cooler. let me find the link.

Maybe Ken has some more info because he got the ddr3 8600m gt card last time to test them.

dang... im gonna be pissed if i buy a 8800mgtx and the next week a 9800M model comes out...

but this is wonderful news!!! finally! now they just need to allow us to put quad core processors inside! because in theory it should work!

yar you already can... i read someone that had a quad core inside... so well see how that goes! but its deffinatly coming out. From what i understand is that asus didnt want to put in the 8800 gtx because it would create so much heat. i dont think they expected the recent 45 nm chip shrink from the 8800gt. Im pretty sure the 8800m gtx is gonna be the 8800 gt but maybe a bit overclocked and higher transfer rates. Kinda like the 8600 vs 8700.

The 8800M GTX has lower specs than the 8800GTS according to alienware's page I expect t to perform similar to the GTS

I doubt the 8800 in the new 15" alienware will be MMX, if anything MMX3 not MMX2 like the c90 uses. the 8600 gt already pushes the cooling limits of the c90 to its max, there is not going to be a stronger card in here untill they can do a die shrink to reduce heat levels.

^ My c90s cooling is fine. Stock clocks doesn't go over 80 and overclocked doesn't go over 87. I just want to see the design for that laptop since it can supposedly handle a quad and the 8800.

Yeah its cooling fine with a 8600gt.... toss in a 8700 or a 8800 and see what happens :p
