After using hibernate for a while, my laptop starting randomly stuttering while running (all the programs I opened would not respond simultaneously for half a minute frequently) so I turned it off and now the laptop won't start up. Whenever I start it, everything loads fine until I get to where the windows sound and logo are supposed to show but it gives me a black screen with a cursor that I can move. Is there some fix for this? Oh yeah this does the same in safe mode too.

I sometimes (rarely) get it where the screen stays black and doesnt come up after sleep as well. My friend has a sony vaio that does the same thing, I think it has something to do with vista..
