hi, i've just got a new Asus G71G-A1 laptop to play games and stuff. The problem is that Battlefield 2 and 2142 don't even load. All I get is a black screen and then it crashes to desktop. I tried using compatibility mode (XP SP2) and running as admin, but nothing works. Please help! Thanks in advance :)

What refresh rate are you playing the game at?

Try downloading the latest patch from the website.

I got a g71g and had the same problem, and fixed it this way:

open C:\Users\'your name'\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles and open a file named video.con with word pad

and on the following line VideoSettings.setResolution 1600x1200@62Hz change the whatever Hz it says in there for 62Hz and save, do the same on the bf2142 file and voila! ;)

just got it, you have to change the refresh rate in the video.con file in the default profile that is in "My Documents". It now works at 100%!
