Hi my Battlefield 2 does not work. When loading, splash screen comes up, then blank, then back to windows. I have a feeling it might be drivers or maybe just a setting. Can some please give their opinion? Thank you.

Hey guys thanx for quick prompt reply ! :)

    I have latest patch installed..
    I have Direct X 10...
I play other games normally without no hassles so actually I dont think its drivers.

When I run BF2, I run as Administrator. I also tried compatibility mode.

What is really strange though, when I connected it up to my 32" LCD telly, it actually went in the game! Weird!? Seems there is a setting somewhere.. maybe resolution setting or something.. not sure.. any advice!? :)

hmm, is that 32 Hz? I think that would definitely cause a problem, it's really low!

You could just try the standard reinstall/patch game, get DLL's for DirectX, and update your graphics drivers, but I'm pretty sure you've tried that.

    I think 32 means 32bit color.

Im currently downloading the updated drivers from Nvdia site, will let you guys know if it helped.

A strange thing I have encountered. I connected my laptop via VGA cable to 32" LCD. BF2 actually runs, believe it or not! That tells me it probably has something to do with the resolution? When I connect VGA to LCD, my laptops resolution changes automatically to 1300 x ... not sure. But I even tried normally putting my resolution to 1024x768 and run BF2, but still not working.

So only way I can play BF2 is via my 32" LCD. Does someone have a idea WHY? :)

    -confused-

I had the same thing happen to me with Star Wars Battlefront 2.

My issue was Skype. Version 4.0.0.206, when minimized, would force all games to the taskbar. It drove me crazy. They made an update to 4.0.0.224, which got rid of the issue.

Im still not sure how and why, but I fixed the issue with BF2.

    FIX: What I did was...

I connected my laptop to my LCD screen. BF2 works perfectly. So all I did was change the resolution in the game to the highest (where 800x600 is the lowest) and Save and Quit. Disconnected from my LCD. Startup BF2 normally, and tadaaaaaa! Working perfectly normal.
