    Hello all,

I bought my Asus N53SV in September of this year and yesterday the dreaded Asus update utility popped up with a BIOS update. I accepted, the bios update completed, shutdown the laptop, and that is the last it was alive. Now the laptop is dead, no signs of power with or without the battery, and power supply. Power supply has power (green led is lit). Are there any secrets to resurrecting this laptop back to life? I sent an email to Asus' Technical Support but heard no response yet. If someone came across this situation, please help me out and resurrecting the laptop back to life.

Thanks in advance and waiting for a response.

Same thing happned to me 3 weeks ago, rma is the only solution, took 8 days front to back. they replaced the main board with updated bios 214...
Now works perfect and they left my harddrive as is!

Open up an RMA ticket with ASUS support and send your machine to them. No other solution on your side.

Just a note: Be very careful with BIOS or firmware updates. These are mostly irreversible processes that can leave you with a very expensive paperweight.

I took the advice but called in to the ASUS tech support. Within about 30 min I had an RMA ticket open and a fedex pickup date set up for pick up for the next day. I am very impressed with this service so far. We'll see how the rest of the RMA process will take place. I heard that the turn around time in Canada is 2-3 business days excluding shipping time.

    Thanks for the email responses.
