    Hello,
I just bought a Z71V a couple of weeks ago (in tokyo, english OS) and am very happy with it. Your review pages were very helpful in guiding my buying decision.

Dumb Q:How do I flash the new bios without a floppy drive, only cd/dvd? [also annoying in windows backup as full system backup requires a floppy with no option for other file store as far as I can see]

Dumb Q2: What does/is the ATK0100 utility do?

    Ty,

You have to flash the BIOS in Windows, using the "WinFlash" utility.

ATK0100 is the ACPI driver for ASUS notebooks...
it also controls those hotkey buttons ...Internet...Mail...Wireless On/Off...etc.

Anyone else have any problems with the latest ATK0100 utility update? I've tried it twice and had to use system restore both times as it screws up my taskbar badly. Restore seems the only solution. I tried registry taskbar reset tweaks but after a couple of reboots it screwed up again...back to last restore point.

Bios update worked fine with latest winflash from asus, though.
