Recently my V1S has been losing bios settings if the battery gets low (not cutoff-low, it has time to hibernate and shut down cleanly). It's as if the cmos battery is dying, and this machine is 1 year old. Any ideas?

    *shameless bump*
Is there anyway I can get around this without having to send my laptop in for a repair? I started grad school in a different state, and this is my only handy PC at the moment :(

you can probably put the new battery in yourself but getting to it may be easy/hard depending on your model, and it may require breaking a warrenty sea lto get too.

Does anyone have the disassembly guide for the V1S handy?

Also, shouldn't this happen after like 4 or 5 years? only had mine for 13 months now..

Just checked, this now happens with any reboot. So each and every time I reboot I have to at least re-set my watch, which is a pain in the . Any help I'd get is appreciated.
