I've been using my N81vp for a couple of weeks now and love it so far. I figured I would try the new v208 BIOS that was just released, since I heard it improves idle fan noise.

I downloaded the bios file and unzipped it to my C: drive. Every time I try to use the easy flash utility from the BIOS menu, it gives me an error ("unable to recover BIOS rom" or something along those lines), then continues to POST without updating the BIOS. I've tried downloading the file twice already. I haven't tried winflash yet, but I'm afraid something is wrong with the file if easy flash can't recognize it.

Has anyone else successfully flashed their BIOS with the easy flash utility? What steps did you take to make it work?

    Thanks

EasyFlash worked fine for me on the N81vp.

I recommend you to read the Asus Info both sticky and look for the "Asus Bios Update Guide" that is linked in there.

The preferred tools to flash it (in order) are:
    1) EasyFlash
    2) Dos utility
    3) Winflash

Read the guide for more info but try winflash as a last resort. I used #1 and #2 on the N81 with success.
