this laptop was bought in 2005 with intel [email protected] nVidia. These few weeks gave me the nv4_disp error as after the window XP logo start up screen then into a black screen.
I did one recovery from the CD provided, XP was updated right away. Then 2 days later, it died on me again
I tried F8 to boot it up in VGA mode, the laptop was in 8 bits lowest resolution, then I went to display setting to move onto 32 bits colour and it cause the same black screen.
It is not the LCD trouble, as I can go into BIOS to run the battery calibration for more than one hour.
I searched this forum and could not find the A8JAS articles. From other forums, this nv4_disp discussion stopped few years ago. How come this problem showed up after 5 years on my laptop.

I am looking for any update on the BIOS version plus the nVidia drivers update?

    Thanks in advance
