    Hi,

I recently experienced the infamous backlight problem on my asus z96j. After going through the forum, I ordered the inverter and attached it to my laptop. Once I did this, the screen came back to life and remained so for 30 minutes (on 70% brightness). After which it suddenly went off again and is not coming back on since. I even tried on the old inverter and am having same problem (no backlight at all). Does it mean that I have to replace the LCD??

If that is the case, what is the difference (life wise) between the LCD bought from asus estore and a generic brand?

    Thanks for your help.
