I have just got a X200CA and decided to make a backup of the system. I downloaded and installed Backtracker from the Asus site but when i try to run it I get the message that the program has stopped working.
    any ideas?

    thanks,
    Gerald

I don't see it listed in the downloads section for that model for any OS. Where did you download Backtracker from?

It could be a compatibility issue. Do you still have the recovery partition intact? Backtracker only makes a backup image of that.

If you can't get it to work, you can always make an image of the entire drive using Windows or any third party utility.

Where would that be? All I can see is a C drive and a D drive. Is it a hidden folder?

I think Asus usually hides the recovery partition, but if it's there, you should be able to see it in Disk Management (it will be labeled "Recovery partition" if so).

If you don't see it in Disk Management, then there's probably no recovery partition whatsoever.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I've been into disk management and found the following:

    EFI System Partition 100 MB
    Recovery Partition 900 MB
    Recovery Partition 20.01 GB

I'm not certain on why Backtracker isn't working, then. As mentioned, it could be an issue with the version or an incompatibility.

An easier route at this point would be to go through the Windows image backup. You can do that through the Control Panel. Or if you prefer, you can use a third party program to do this, such as EaseUSTools, Clonezilla, or Acronis.
