This might be a good question to put into the FAQ.

How long after a model is discontinued are things like batteries usually still available? Specifically, am I in any danger of not being able to get new batteries for my Z33 any time soon?

Just a side not on this, it is best to wait to buy the battery as long as possible. If you get a battery and let it sit for a year before you use it, it will not be as good as you want. The oxidation occurs in the battery regardless of use, so wait unless you need two. (Hopefully if you wait you get a fresh battery, not one that sat at the retailer for a year, the good news is that since Asus seems to like to keep models alive, battery availability is pretty good.). Just thought I would mention this for people who worry and go buy a new battery asap.

    That was exactly my thinking.

I believe the Z35/W7 may use batteries with identicle connectors to the Z33/W5, just with different styling/part numbers, so it may be a non-issue as those models are still out.
