    Hi there...

I own an Asus F3Ja with a 9 cell battery... Today, around 7pm, I started the battery calibration process, but now it's already 2.25am (GMT Time) and it hasn't finished yet... Is it normal to last this long to calibrate the battery? I have the 2.08 version of the BIOS, and I've never done the battery calibration... Is something wrong? I'm starting to get worried and afraid to disconnect the AC Power and get my laptop dead.. Or can I just plug off the AC Power and turn off the laptop that nothing will happen?

I need help quick please! Starting to feel nervous...

    Thanks in advance!!

PS - Sorry for bad English.. :)

It does seem like a long time but if you started the calibration from a low battery it will have to be charged to full before the real test starts. At least I think that's how it works.

I suppose you can just interrupt the test there's nothing critical going on.

But where is the laptop stuck? At charging (plugged in) or discharging (plugged out)? If it's stuck on charging and it's been charging for that many hours it could be dangerous for the battery.

But anyhow I am too late. You probably resolved the situation somehow by now :)

It is stuck at charging (plugged in), and I started the calibration from a nearly full charged battery.. It never asked me to unplug the power... I left it processing during the night, the battery wasn't hot so I found it not dangerous... It's still stuck, I'm going to unplug it and turn it off...

I'll tell some news in a few time.. :p

Well it's done... Nothing bad really happen, but I think that nothing has been done to the battery! It's 96% charged, and as I started the process at almost 100% I believe that's normal, it wasn't even charged I guess..

Maybe in a few days I'll try this again, maybe it was just some conflict and I've passed the last hours yesterday looking at a screen that was doing nothing! :D

Thanks for the help anyway guys! :)

The calibration actually reduces battery life is you do it sooner than you should.
Oh and did you make sure not to touch the screen brightness or connect/disconnect anything (Cooling pad for example) while it was working ?

I haven't touch in anything during the process... Well I've read about it and I won't try to do it again soon... :p Or else I won't have any battery in a few time...
