I e-mailed a vendor in Canada regarding the W3v they were selling and asked about the warranty and the battery.
Their reply was that the W3V come with the 2 year asus global warranty and a 6 cell bettery.
Is the 6 cell battery standard in Canada, or is something weird going on? (I thought it was normally an 8 cell with the W3V)
Also, has anyone know about sending stuff back to Asus from Canada while under warranty?
Thanks

It's probably a mistake... there should NOT be a battery change just because it's shipped to Canada.
As far as I know, it should come with an 8 cell battery. -

I can tell you that Canada gets whatever the US office orders for here... not that they get seconds, but the US only orders in one spec... two things though..
1. there is no 6 cell main battery for the W3 -- there is the optical bay battery for the unit wouldn't come with that.
2. internationally a 4 cell was "standard" for the W3 --- but the US never imported that model for the North American market..
... This is what I can tell you... that W3 certainly has an 8 cell battery...... and the people who you are considering buying from, don't know the difference. I'm not saying don't buy from them, but realize the basis of what that says..... Finally, Asus set up a repair center in Canada so you don't have to send your unit back across the border for work..... I believe the contracted their motherboard and graphics card distributor SuperCom to do that work. Look them up.
