NHC shows that my battery wear is 0%, I had my laptop for over 2 years. Does NHC require some battery indicating thing that my battery might not have?![]()

You need to calibrate your battery...then the wear level will JUMP.

You should see what MobileMeter (google for it) says. It would be interesting if they both said zero.

mobilemeter doesn't have battery wear does it?
-
MobileMeter reports wear level 0%!!! I am gonna freak out!!! Its either I have demons in my computer or I have a super battery.

Did you restart the computer? A fresh restart and a battery calibration would be the best way to be certain. 0% sounds way low, but I don't think it is entirely impossible.

calibration = discharge battery completely then recharge? if so, yes i done it, and the battery wear is still 0%. dam u super battery!! why dont u tell me you are dying?!!!

Hey. The battery may have weared, but monitoring programs just can't determine the wear level. The reason being, those programs that show battery wear calculate battery wear based on what the battery was originally designed to hold. If your battery does not have information containing the original capacity and the current capacity, these programs will not be able to determine a wear level.
Have you noticed that your battery life is maybe 70-80& as long as when it was new? Try using NHC to find out how many mAh your battery currently holds, and look on your battery for the original capacity. If you find that what NHC gives you is lower than what is on your battery, then it has weared. I find it hard to believe that a 2 year old battery hasn't worn at all. My 1 year old battery from my Uniwill has worn around 20%. My Asus Z96J has already worn 1%, and I've had it for 2 weeks. That 1% wear occured during the first couple days, and has not worn since. My parents' Dell laptop from 2 years ago has worn something like 60%. The battery lasts 15-30 minutes. -

My old HP bateries last just as long as when I got them, they are 2 years old and I have to say I don't notice a difference. I haven't run MobileMeter on them though.
-
Normally the difference in battery life would be small- so small that over a period of two years you might not notice it. Something like getting 3:30 out of a battery instead of 4 hours.
You can also use RMClock to find battery wear. It's in there somewhere. -
Ok, NHC says its 71590mWh. The battery says 72Wh. I am gonna assume the 72Wh is not rounded and its 72000mWh. By my calculations, this mean that the battery has worn 0.57%. That's less than 1%! Maybe thats why it shows as 0% battery wear. So I really do have a super battery. Sweet -
Umm... are you sure the the reading from NHC is your actual current capacity, and not the designed capacity? Designed capacity could have been 71590. Try RMClock and other programs and see what you get for the current capacity. I'd be very surprised if your Dell has gone two years without wearing... all dells I have seen have worn to 20-30% in under 6 months. As far as I am concerned, Dell's battery quality sucks, but maybe I have just happened to run into all the rare cases... Congrats if your battery truly hasn't worn at all.
-
Well I took ur advice and ran RMclock. Dam it. Its the same info as NHC. Thanks for your help and congrats. However, I would have been more happy if I seen wear. Cuz dell battery suck a**. It says its made by sony. I will come to the conclusion that my battery is possessed and refuse to cooperate.
Thanks for all your help.
