Hi, I've just found this excellent site. I was wondering, with the newer core i5/i7 processors coming out, do you think they will be a larger drain on the battery? I'm debating on purchasing UL30VT or waiting on the UL30JT (this summer I guess is the recent rumor).
However with the combination of the newer CPU (more power?) and GPU on the UL30JT would that be more of a battery drain?
Is the combination ULV C2D CPU & GPU of the UL30VT in one of those sweet spots, where the battery life is way up there and performance not too shaby.
I realize there is a compromise between them, but will we see lower battery hours on the newer ultra portables in the near future?

    Thanks!

The i5/i7 planed for the ul30jt are also low voltage cpu, probably aimed to replace the current CULV cpus (not the common you see out), i remember checking the table (dont quote me though) that it the i7 was 1.2ghz with turbo reached 2.1ghz, so its still a low clock cpu but has turbo, not sure if this alone might make them consume more, my guess it will be as or more efficient than the current ones, but no one will know for sure until the laptop is released.
