While it doesn't seem like a big deal, I'm more curious as to why it just started happening. I have a relatively new U30Jc and in the last week the battery has stopped charging at the 99% mark. Is there a way to reset it or should I just forget about it?

This will be because you have ACPI Battery Driver installed. If you go into Device manager and click on battery you will see it there.

It is a built in feature to prevent your laptop from constantly overcharging and topping up your battery and draining its life staight away.

Mine goes between 96%-99% but never actually reaches 100% even though I have no wear at all on the battery.

I believe the driver kicks in once the battery reaches around 95%.

Try letting your battery drain below 95% and then plug the power back in.

You can also try to recalibrate your battery to see if that helps.

This worked for me. I let my drain to 50% and on the next charge it reached max %.
