    Battery plugged in not charging

    recently bought a new asus k40ij and now the batter screen says plugged in not charging, does anyone know what to do?

    Well is the battery fully charged maybe (or somewhere within 5% of full charge)? If so then it's normal that it doesn't charge anymore. I am not too familiar with Windows Vista battery messages.

    If the battery is not fully charged, try first removing and reinserting the battery.

    Also try the battery calibration option in the BIOS, if you have one.
