Will the battery wear levels be extreme if say I were to purchase a 3.0 external hard drive preferably WD My Passport, and kept it plugged in for hours while I am playing a game off of the external hard drive? I already have 5% battery wear from normal usage and little bit of gaming (UX31A).

USB 2.0 can only put out 5V at 500mA. Anything higher will require a dedicated power source for the drive. So power draw from the Li-Ion battery won't be severe.

What about 3.0? Also is there any new hard drivers like the my passport which can I plug into a power outlet?

If you can or are planning to run the HDD on AC power why would you be running the notebook on battery? If you have the notebook plugged in your entire question about battery wear is mute.

150 mA x 6 unit loads, so 900mA. And yes, there are several external hard drive enclosures that house a DC jack; typically not the "portable" externals though.

Ahh... I will hold off of the hard drive, I just bought BF3, and will play it on my ultrabook (my only pc). Hold it runs well.

Not sure what specs your Ultrabook has but if it's a UX32VD or equally equipped, or better, then it should run BF 3 fine - just not on ultra high settings, I imagine. :)

I was bored so I just ran FF14 "Maximum" settings 720 resolution got a 2436 score rated as "Standard". I play on medium or high and get "high". For a low voltage CPU and 620m and 3lbs I am very happy. I hope the gamers can figure out how this might relate to other games because I can't but I think not bad.

I only get about 20 FPS, it lags a lot. and everything is on low. On youtube people with intel hd 4000 get 30 fps +. Why is this? It is because I got an ultra low voltage processor? Everyone on youtube had the i5 desktop version and intel hd 4000.

Desktop HD4000 runs faster than mobile HD4000 low voltage or not.

Damn, wasted a good $8.99 gift card. I bought myself Borderlands 2, and it runs great, I get 40 fps + with edited config file, but I just set it capped at 30 fps for smooth play. Its very optimized in case anyone wants to purchase it as well!
