It seems that a lot of people believe these laptops are really similar. Except that the M50SV has a larger and better screen.

I really like the M50SV but the battery life is too horrible since I'll be using it at University and may not always have a battery outlet near me.

which of these should give me better battery life? I can live with a small screen if it means more battery.

    from what I read

    M50SV ~ 2 hrs (battery saving mode)
    F8SN ~ 2.5 hrs (battery saving mode)

does this seem accurate for owners?

    Thanks

From the reviews there is only about a 10 to 15 minutes difference in the battery life for like models. This seems about right because the only major difference is the screen size. That being said there are many options on both laptops that could effect battery usage. If you can live with just over 2 hours of battery life, then you need to make the decision based on the price, screen size, or the full number pad on the M50.

i dont' really need all those extra features the m50 has if it means only 2hrs of battery life. has anyone tried the m50 with the 9 cell battery?

    thanks
