Not 22 but close enough. hdmi +1080p -
One of the best 22" monitors ever made is the Samsung 22" 226BW. The specs are tuned for an optical gaming experience and would go very nicely with any gaming laptop such as the G50 series.

I have that right now!!!
I have had it for over a year now. I must say it did come with 2 dead pixels. Graphics are really good with it when i am on the comp but i am connected to my xbox via vga cable and the words are a bit fuzzy but graphics are still ok. -
You may want to try connect your xbox with a HDMI cable and see if that improves the video quality. After all, this monitor didn't win the "Customer Choice Award for LCD Monitors" 5 times for nothing!

I'm thinking about the new SAMSUNG 2343BWX with it's 2048x1152 16:9 resolution but waiting on a review.
Eventually I see future games accepting the 16:9 trend and making use of the extra horizontal pixels. -
What are you using the monitor for? What is your budget? What requirements do you need (min resolution, height adjustability, certain outputs)?
LCDs have different panels, mainly based off of TN, MVA/PVA, and IPS technology. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. To cut it short TN is the cheapest and worst in terms of colour, angles, etc. but has the best response time. IPS is the opposite to TN, expensive, good colour reproduction, but decent response time. MVA/PVA are middle of the road, but I believe have the worst response time. There is also the backlight, the best is LED, though it still is fairly new and most use CCFL still. Dell has a new cheap LED monitor, the G2210 22" for $239 USD and the G2410 24" for $349 USD.
Best 22"+ monitor for asus G50
