    Best Buy G51 - upgradable CPU?

    I'm looking to buy a G51 from BB this weekend. Does anyone know if the CPU is upgradable to a 2.8 dual core?
    I have read speculations about the mobo in the BB version, but never any hard truths.

    yeah, should be good to go.... only thing in question is Quad Core support. Dual Core will be fine though.

    w/ the best buy version it has been deemed negative for quad support. iirc, two people have tested and failed to boot with quads in the G51VX-RX05

    Has anyone tried flashing the bios to the ones from the real quad core G51?

    Actually I believe that yes, Forge flashed the quad bios and it was a no go. will look it up later if I find the time.

    that's the only thing that was a bit disappointing with the BB model.... I had every intention of throwing in a sweet Quad and having an affordable beast. Still a great machine, but would atleast like a Quad as an option with it.
