Like you can read in the title: What is the best driver for the 8600M GT GDDR3 (in the G1S) for vista (aero) and for gaming?

Because every driver in the 169.xx series gives my vista aero lag, but are giving very good performance ingame...
It's good that they give very good gaming performance but i don't want lag while selecting thing on the desktop, while moving windows, ....
Sometimes everything goes smooth (as it should be) and sometimes it's reaaaally laggy when i'm selecting item's,...

    Anybody else has experienced this??

    Thanks :)

The last asus 167.49 from laptopvideo2go is the better in my opinion.
He makes same score like others last , but stabilize system (aero works good) and it makes it smoother for the games, no more lags.

Yeah, I've been using that one too. It fixes the stuttering after about 10 minutes of use for me (CoD4, Oblivion, etc.). Great driver IMO.

Edit: Oh and even though you don't have to in order to install this driver, I suggest using the modded inf because if you don't, a lot of resolutions won't be available to use.

I currently use the 167.49 after using 169.28 for a while. The performance is exactly the same since there was only a drop of 4 points in 3dmark 06 after changing driver and with these drivers i can play HD content without encoding it to a diffrent format...

There is only one thing I can't figure out how come it went wrong, for some reason with these drivers my DVD playback quality is crap, both on powerDVD and on Zoom player, anybody else with same problem?

Well I've never done this but I'm told there is a modified INF file that you need to get for your particular GPU so that it gets recognized and the driver installs. More info should be in the documentation section of the website.
