Hey guys, I'm looking into the possibility of buying an Asus Z70va even though a bunch of resellers are out of stock at the moment, but I was hoping to get some input on which of the resellers offer the best warranties. Thanks ahead of time for the responses.

I can't speak of any other resellers because I have never done business with them (Although I'm sure most are great also), but I just bought my Z70Va from powernotebooks.com. They were the only ones that had the Z70Va in stock when the others were out and they also offer a standard 3 year 24/7 tech support warranty with the Z70Va and other notebooks. Donald, a gentlemen in sales talked with me the previous week for about 2-3 hours total helping me and explaining to me what I really needed and even talked me out of a few things that I didn't need. One of the other sales advisors, I believe his name was Ron, also helped me when Donald wasn't availiable. This was before I had even purchased the notebook! I also needed the notebook very fast, so he expidited the building process which normally takes up to 4 days and even upgraded the regular ground shipping to 2nd day air for free. So I sent in the wire transfer THIS WEEK on Monday afternoon. And JUST received the notebook about 2 hours ago. So I had a very good experience with them, and will recommend them to anyone. Although I'm sure some of the other well respected Asus dealers here are also excellent.
BTW...the machine is AWESOME, definitely a sexy machine. Although a tad bigger/heavier than i expected, it definitely is lighter than others with the same features. Although I dont have the OS installed yet so I have to wait and see how great the notebook really is.
Good luck! -
The most important warranty is through the manufacturer. I'm sure many retailers offer good warranties, but if it doesn't cover the cost of parts, it's pretty much worthless.
-
We do have a few Z70Va's in stock, just realized most everyone else is sold out.
Our warranty covers all parts up to the duration of the warranty you purchased with your notebook [1,2, or 3 year].
Only lazy integrators use ASUS as their RMA.
We provide free FedEx 2Day shipping for the order, and we pay FedEx 2Day both ways for the return / repair.
Turnaround time for orders and repairs is typically 2-5 business days [and that's being conservative]. -
Actually, most reseller's stock should be up now since it's arrival.
-
Um, ya easy for you to say...
It came and went for the rest of us... only a few left in our stock. -

I agree with Eddie, that's pretty unfair to say, although it may be partially true with the ensemble line because of the Asus warranty, but I'm not sure about that. But with the whitebooks the Asus global warranty is replaced with the dealers warranty that they offer. The level of service you receive with that warranty depends on the dealer.
I would also like to add now that I remember, that I spoke with Eddie (geared2play) about getting a Z70Va but unfortunately I wasn't ready to purchase a notebook quite yet and after Christmas when I was, he was out of stock. But I have no doubt in my mind that he would have offered great service. Also when I was searching for a laptop earlier on, I spoke with Justin at Proportable and he emailed me and answered alot of my questions. I also hear alot of good things about Sasha at c9tech.
These 3 places along with power notebooks (where I ordered mine) will all offer great service IMO and will treat you good. There are a couple others too but I can't remember the names off the top of my head. But you can check resellerratings.com to see reviews on all of these places and go from there. Good luck! -
I am in the same boat. It seams it is very difficult to find a dealer that will allow full custimiztion. I don't want an assembled computer, I want to put it together myself. It seams that they all want you to purchase all the compentents form them as well. I can purchase the the Hdd, WiFi, RAM myself for cheaper. And I get the fun of putting it together. That's what I do with my desktops - why can't I do that with my notebook?
-
Also, the short 1 year warranty you get by building the notebook yourself, will be handled by you, instead of a reseller.
Have fun with that... -
Just thinking about what warranties to get is making me go
-
Well you can go with 1, 2, or 3 year.

I would check out www.powernotebooks.com I bought an ASUS z81sp off of there last week (arrives monday) and they sell the Z70va also. I have found their customer service to be top notch so far.
Check out their profile on www.resellerratings.com They have a perfect 10 rating in the last 6 months and a 9.99 life time rating.
