So I'm a religious Newegg'er for all that they are. But they don't customize notebooks (as far as I'm aware of).
But what is the best place to go for a custom ASUS notebook, as far as price, quick shipping and trustworthy company to buy from?
I'm sure I could build the notebook myself, but my girlfriend is starting school in a couple weeks and I just want it done and here, but I want to get a 7200rpm drive and upgrade a few things on the badboy first.
THANKS!

I think if you look at the sticky at the top of the ASUS forum, you will find that coriolis has compiled a lot of information on ASUS laptops, including resellers here in the US that can customize ASUS notebooks for you.
Or you can click on the link here . -
Hi,
Yes, I've been reading through some of that information and actually saw the whole list of resellers on the FAQ. But those resellers I saw listed...don't do customizations. So maybe I missed that section and that's why I posted.
It's a bit overwhelming amount of info.
Just wondering if there are favorites that people use for their custom Asus builds? Just recommend 2-3 sites or link directly to that thread would be much more helpful.
Thanks. -
asus ensemble models are not meant to be customized. if you do get it customized, then it will void you 2-year asus international warranty and your notebook will be warranted through your reseller. some resellers that customize are milestonepc, gentechpc, and btotech.

OK, so that is good to know, thank you.
I previously owned an Asus Barebone that was pre built when I purchased it on ebay a couple years ago.
Are those the same places you would recommend for barebone builds? -
I don't know about ejl, but when researching for barebone notebooks earlier this year, I found that those resellers ejl mentioned are the best places to customize (albeit, like ejl said, not much, only HDD, CPU, and so memory, and maybe a few more little things) an ASUS notebooks. You get best prices with those resellers.
