    Hi there,

Just wanted to pass on some advice to any prospective w3v purchasers living down under. I did an exhaustive search on as many different online and retail computer stores as I could trying to find the cheapest price and eventually came across an online retailer in my very own city of Perth by the name of NINTEK. They have the W3V (PM 750 with the 80 GB 5400 rpm HDD) for the unbelievable price of AUD$2,799 (inc. GST). I'll be claiming the GST back through the Tourist Refund Scheme when I leave Australia on holidays soon meaning I'll be getting this baby for the low, low, low price of AUD$2,550!!! Awesome. What's more they offer FREE shipping anywhere in Australia or you can pick it up from there store if you live locally.

NINTEK has a great reputation with its customers (see this forum thread: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=378975&p=1) and they are very speedy and efficient filling their orders. I ordered on Monday, payment cleared the next day and the laptop had arrived that afternoon. I picked it up on Wednesday. Very efficient indeed!

I'm now getting to know my new laptop (my first one ever). Thanks to all on this forum, who helped guide my decision making. I'll post up some opinions on the new toy when I get the chance.

I purchased mine from CPL in Melbourne in June for AU$2720. Because it was billed to my business, I can claim GST input credits back, reducing the effective cost to $2472, less depreciation. :) Modular battery was another $205. Essentially zero after sales support is offered, though, and the queues for pickup and ordering are a little excessive.
