I know you should never intentionally touch the screen of a laptop but these things happen and greasy marks do appear,

Just wondering whats the best way to clean ASUS screens.

Ive been using my videos cameras lense wipe but if does not seem to work to well.

I've found no better way to clean a screen than by using a damp bounty papertowel and filtered water (i stress the filtered part).

However, I've recently found some really greasy fingerprints on the glaretype displays just may not come off that way. In that case, after step one - using a Q-tip, drench it in some rubbing alcohol and go over those spots.

    Cheers,
I find it amazing how some people are fascinated with anything that appears on my screen so much so they have to try and touch it, leaving their sweaty greasy fingerprints behind.

I find that a damp cloth with a hint of washing-up liquid works wonders with any muck on the glossy displays. One of the advantages of the glossy displays is that they are much easier to clean than the non-glossy ones. And once I have cleaned the display, I give the rest of the computer a wipe with the same damp cloth.

I just bought an Apple notebook cleaning kit. Came with a cloth and liquid spray, plus a travel cloth and travel disposable thingies. Pricey, but it worked great.

That is very true...... I wonder if you could consider that a selling point. :)

I tried using the Apple cleaning product I received as a sample when I purchased my Shaggy Mac microfibre keyboard/screen protector and it totally screwed up my screen.

Left residue and streaks everywhere. Yes I followed directions. I'm going to stick with a warm soft cloth or paper towel or eye glass cleaning kits.

Yes I hate those who have to touch the **** screen when viewing something. This one friend of mine who happens to be a girl borrowed a W5 from her friend just for a couple days and holy crap she was showing me something on the screen and kept tapping at it with her NAILS~!!!! I gave her a swift smack on the back of her head, I'm older :D, and said WTF ARE YOU DOING????!!!! It's not even yours stop that~!

She was like, "Okaaaaaaaaaaaaay, chill out computer nerd."

Oh man, oh man, she could've damaged the screen with her stupid nails and the thing isn't even hers. What a jerk.

    Anyhoo'

    Cheers,
    Mike

You might try a little spray bottle of eyeglass cleaner liquid on the panel to cut the oil/grease fingerprints with a bounty paper towel. Gentle, yet contains enough solvent to cut the oil. Find the stuff in drug stores.

Whats with the filtered water?? I've been using regular tap water for years (though, our tap water is propably cleaner than filtered water since it doesn't come from circulation).
