I had recently purchased a Western Digital Black 7200 rpm hard drive for my old laptop. I figured I would move it into my new Asus UL80Vt (because I do not trust Seagate Momentus drives).

Am I correct in assuming that all I really need to do is install the drive, then boot with the Asus Recovery Disks I burned after I started up the computer the first time and restore to the new drive?

This seems to be simpler than the method I was going to use-
Install WD drive in USB enclosure
Use Acronis True Image to clone the existing drive
Swap out the factory Seagate drive
    Run computer

    Thanks
