I need to send in my notebook to be repaired and I was wondering what the best way to protect it while shipping is.

Fedex sells laptop boxes and the UPS Store can pack things for you.

Shipping a laptop in it's original packaging is the best way. However, if you don't have the original packaging, I'd recommend bubble wrapping the laptop + double boxing it.

I second the bubble wrap suggestion. When I had to send in my notebook, I put it in its carrying case and then bubble wrapped around the case for added protection.

bubble wrap ^_^ Lots and lots...and make sure everything is very snug so there isn't any room for things to jostle around. I've shipped my laptop in all sorts of boxes but always with tons of bubble wrap and always a snug fit.

Pack it tight with no room to move, at least 1 inch of padding (bubble wrap is OK, heavy foam is better) on all sides. Double boxes are better.
