    Hi well this is starting to worry me a lot , I actually never did some testing on this lap to check the actual idle and stressing temps values , until I decided myself to upgrade the actual bios I got which is 1101. Before flashing to the latest which is 1201. So I decided to take temp readings from 1101 bios and I to my surprise it came out like this , I'm really worried, cause I ordered it from Gentech with Arctic Silver compound so as to have the best heat discipation as possible ( I know it would increase surface area a bit getting a tiddly bit lower as 4 C but guys but it's kicking around 85 C at full STRESS FPU 100 % CPU USAGE)

    Bios 1101
    Z96J Bought @ Gentech
    Merom T7200 With Arctic Silver Compound :confused:

    CPU TEMP Idle Values : 58 C
    HD TEMP Idle Values : 40 C [/b]

    Lavasys Everest System Stability Test
    Stress CPU / FPU / Memory
    ===============================
    CPU TEMP Idle Values : 58 C Increasing up to around 85 C :mad:
    HD TEMP Idle Values : 40 C
    CPU USAGE LOAD : 100 %

    Prime 95 Test
    In Place Large FFT's (Max Heat, power consumption)
    ===============================
    CPU TEMP Idle Values : 58 C Increasing up to around 72 C :mad:
    HD TEMP Idle Values : 40 C
    CPU USAGE LOAD : 58 %

    So I would like to know which are the values you gus are getting with the same CPU T7200 Merom cause evidently something is quite wrong here, either the heatsink it's not well seated, compound has not been placed as it should or else what ? :confused: :eek:

    Well, I don't own a Z96J, but as you can read from my signature, I roughly get 44-47 on low to idle usage. I have seen my CPU up to 65% on almost near CPU Load but never really done a stress test. I also have AS5 and the zalmann cooler. My suggestion if you are really concerned you can get a cooler and / or drop the temperature of the room where the notebook resides.

    My T5600 gets 40 idle, 80 stressed. Your temps don't look too over the top, I wouldn't be too worried.

    Reading from NHC (Everest reads the same)
    CPU: 56C Idle
    HDD: 42C Idle (Max Speed)

    After gaming for a few hours (CS:S), my CPU goes to ~85C.

    Sounds normal to me.

    P.S. SpeedFan reads 47C for ACPI.

    I would say thats pretty normal as well, my T7200 has hit 85C after gaming and encoding for awhile, the HDD temp is usually around 45C.

    My V1J which has a T7200 hovers around 70C when encoding, but that's only getting about 40-60% CPU load. It hovers around 50C idle. As much as I dislike having elevated temperatures, these things seem to have been designed for it.

    It should be noted that Idle temps mean very little. It`s basically defined by the temperature at which the fan kicks in, and different manu`s choose this differently..

    I created that poll because I at one point was idling at about 64C and was very concerned with it (this is with Arctic Silver 5). Because of a graphics card problem with my Z96JS I RMA'd it and got a new motherboard.

    With the new motherboard (and nothing else different) I dropped to idling at 54C (without arctic silver!). In my experience with computers (odd enough) motherboards can have an impact on CPU temperatures! I also observed this when I replaced a motherboard in a desktop too!
