I bought this laptop on my previous workplace and I'm pretty sure it's the UX32VD. I can clearly see the Nvidia eGPU (GT 620M) on it as well as the iSSD which 32A does not have. After just 2 weeks, I started having issues with super slow boot times so we had the motherboard sent to china to get "repaired". And when it came back it seems to have been downgraded instead.

I know from a fact the UX32 line suffered from various issues with the SSD-cache/iSSD dying and Windows 8 bugging out. This could have been solved with a BIOS upgrade and disabling the iSSD but it's bit too late for that now as I discovered it about 2 months after.

Is there any hope left or do I really have to get something else? The GT 620M does just about what I want on the go since the HD4000 is so lacking.

What do you mean hope? There is nothing you can do to add a DGPU to the one without.
