No owners lounge for the N82JQ-A1, but anyways, I am just setting up my new laptop and was considering updating the bios to the most current on ASUS's site for my model which is 207 (came with 206). I have read many of the other model owner lounges and don't really see a consensus. Mine came loaded with winflash and then there is easyflash in the bios, so which is the best/safest in the ASUS world?

Easyflash is safest. It works 99.99% of the time unlike Winflash which has a high tendnecy to brick ur laptop.

NEVER NEVER EVER use Winflash, if you don't have a good enough reason to flash your BIOS then that alone is good enough reason NOT to flash it.

I've used Winflash once and it worked just fine.

I had some trouble with my laptop, flashing BIOS helped me a lot. Did it two times. Both times used Winflash. After that, I read a lot of articles which didn't recommend that piece of software. Good thing it didn't brick my lappy :) My advice would be, if you don't have any troubles don't flash your BIOS at all. If you experience some, try reinstalling your OS first. And if that won't help, only then flash BIOS

Easy Flash, its a no brainer. Very easy to use and works all the time. You don't need to remember any command, just put the BIOS file to USB drive, boot BIOS and start Easy Flash and start flashing. Its as easy as that

Easy flash from within the BIOS is my preferred option, i would never trust Windows to flash my BIOS but that's just me.
