i started playing, it was working for some time, then the first time i tried to save it crashed, restarted, when i was loading next level, crashed.

    i tried updating drivers for 8600m gt ( i got 165.01)
reinstalling game, etc, it just wont work!

now it wont even open, the logo on the desktop just stays there for ages.

1.) make sure you have the newest direct x (or atleast the august version wich is the one that is needed for bioshock)

2.) make sure your playing a legitimate copy of the game

3.) I recomend 163.75 drivers personally they work great, make sure you do a perfect uninstall/install.

uninstall drivers --> reboot into safe mode--> run driver cleaner (pro or the newer version) --> reboot --> install new drivers.

I skip some of that myself for normal installs but if you have a problem thats when you need to make sure to take the extra steps.

Also if your overclocking or anything, lower your clocks down.

try right clicking on the short cut and then clicking on run as administrator. that is the only way i can get bioshock to run. i had similar problems with it sitting in load-limbo until i did that and now it works everytime. hopefully this helps you

well, just had it running 1st time in admin, but i closed it, im gonna try do it a couple more times to see it it works.

ok, so i ran it four more times in admin, it loaded to menu, so then i decided to load the actual gameplay, worked both times i tried it.

it seems that running in admin + 163.44 works with bioshock.
