    Hi!
I wanted to add some ram to my asus u36sd notebook, but after I added 4gig more ram, nothing happend, still just 4 gig. So then I switched the new and the old ram. But now when I boot the pc, the screen is just black..I removed the new ram and took the old one in the orginal place, but the screen is just black. The power buton is blue, but the screen is black..What should I do? I got some really importent ducuments on my notebook.

i think maybe the new ram maybe incompatible with your laptop. Also try and make sure that your ram is sitting in the slot properly. It looks like your laptop isnt posting because of this.

Ok, I dont care about the new ram now, all I want is to start the computer so I can get my documents. The old ram is now in the laptop, (I tried it in both slots). In and out, in and out. Its sitting poperly in..The screen is black as the night.

    Any ideas??

Try removing the battery and AC power for 30+ seconds. That will reset the embedded controller. If that doesn't do it, maybe you damaged something.

To get your documents from it if it won't power up, remove the hard drive and plug it in to either a desktop or an external enclosure.

I have tried to remove the ac power and battery, trying with just batteri, just ac og both, nothing works. I only have accses to the memory, if I open the laptop and take out the hdd I think I break the warranty...I have a asus vip member account, but the asus support forum dont have a notebook section? Only gpu, motherboards ect..U guys know something about that?
