I being playing about 30minutes then screen goes black for a few seconds and loads back to the game but very laggy, then happens again then freezes for a few seconds and game reloads.....so i decide to install new patch 177.98but same problem.

Driver currently using is 177.98, during playing the game temperatures are GPU 82C, HDD 49.C, CORE 1 & 2 44C.

Which drivers are people using for Rainbowsix Vegas 2? and what would cause this to happen?

Have you checked whether the game has any patches released?

My computer will do that, not only after thirty minutes tho, and a little windows bubble pops up down in the lower right saying my display drivers crashed and were reloaded succesfully.... that might be it, but i dont understand how it works I just know thats what happens to me

^ Based on that, I would try disabling all the RV2 effects (AA, shadows, whatever) and try to troubleshoot whether the game itself is the problem. Do you play any other games, and if yes, do they run OK?

Bog, I have installed the lastest patch which is 1.03 (I believe). I disable effects tonight it give it a go. That the only game i have at the moment, i pre-ordered Crysis Warhead just waiting for that to be release and that will be my second game.

Lynus, I think the driver error happen to me as well.

In story mode i can play 1-2 hours without it happening but when play in Terrorist mode, (Enemies - High) play 30-1 hour then it happens.

naton, I have tried a few drivers but with no success thats why i'm using 177.98 (lastest driver at the moment)

Thanks for your help guys appreciated :)

Just an update, after trying various drivers unsuccessfully over a few days, i decide to roll back to my stock driver which is 167.62 and happy to say i been playing rainbowsix for hours without a TDR error (vlddmkm error message)

Also i notice something to GPU-Z, the Driver Version: nvlddmkm 7.15.11.6762 (ForceWare 167.62)/Vista64, maybe this driver was design to elimate this error??.......

All i know is that this driver is the one for me

Also GPU highest temp reached 91C (Which is quite hot i believe after reading a few other post, should i be worried?)

Thanks again for everybodys your help

On my G1S the GPU would get to 95C and up... highest I think I ever saw was around 103.

This display driver message is what happens when a GPU is overclocked higher than normal as well. I've seen it many times on my desktop. I would suggest the GPU is overheating in many of these cases.

Your GPU should not get that hot, you have serious cooling problems if it gets that hot, the limit for a normal GPU is 105-110, anything over 90 is dangerous though.
