Just wondering if there is a fix for the black screen issue where the PC must be repowered?

If I close the lid or leave the notebook idle for a while the screen shuts off and I must reboot.

    Im using the 7.1 Omegas.

Try adjusting or disabling PowerPlay in the driver settings.

If you dont have any third party apps controlling your power settings - go to Start>Control Panel>Display>ScreenSaver>Power
Change system standby to never, turn off hard disk to never, set it only to shut off monitor after persay 30 mins -
Click the Hibernate tab and disable hibernation by unchecking the box
    Click Ok, and Ok.

Otherwise you will need to configure your 3rd party Application to adjust power settings.

If this is the same issue I had when I first got my A8JP, then I have a work around. My issue was that leaving the lid closed for a long time (overnight) would make it remain off even after opening the lid and moving the mouse around. The PC does not go to sleep, but the monitor did not come back on from power saving mode. Initially, I was very frustrated...but then I found a really simple workaround.

Just close the lid and reopen! Works everytime. The problem only occurs the first time you open the lid. Closing and reopening always brought it back to life on my A8JP.

    Give that a shot.

I also had the black screen problem when starting up my A6Ja after shutting it down. I had to RMA it to fix the problem. I didn't get it back yet though, so I'm not sure what they did to it :)

Not on my W3J... I had to use the S-video cable. I was also ready to RMA it when I checked and it worked while the LCD buttons didn't. Weird.
