    Blank screen after change BIOS

    My notebook Asus A43s. I have problem with DVD-Rom cause can't read DVD but can read CD-ROM. Then I change BIOS with older setup with K43SJ from HDD. But after that my LCD was blank even power is on. Can you help me?

    If the screen is blank and nothing is even spinning up (fan, HDD), then you may have a BIOS update failure. In that case, the only solution is to send the A43 to Asus and have them reset the BIOS; there is no end-user fix that will cure that problem.

    I'm hoping that isn't what happened for you, but I suspect it might be.

    As for your original problem with not reading DVDs, but reading CD-R is still OK, that is very likely to be a failure of the drive laser - had this happen on one of our notebooks a few months ago. No fix but to replace the drive, or use an external USB for DVDs.
