Am I the only one who notices this? Is there a fix for it? The image quality when watching divx/dvd on my W3J was great...not perfect, but pretty close. In comparison, the quality of the G1S on divx/dvd is really really bad. Everything is blocky...sort of like how old Nintendo games are. I hope it's just not the new larger resolution. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

are you sure it's not just a codec issue? for example FDDshow can enable post-processing deblocking for Divx/XVid. Are you playing the exact same video on both? could be just a bad rip/encode.

Yeh, I've tried several different divx movies...I've installed xvid/divx codec, but they still all look much worse than the W3J. I'm guessing, sadly, that it's because the video is stretched out a lot more than it was on the W3J which was only a 14" widescreen. I'll keep trying different things, but thought somoene else might have had a similar issue.

Try downloading k-lite codec pack(or CCCP depending on your preferece) and enable deblocking from FDDshow Video Decoder, does wonders for me and my resolution is 1680 x 1050 as well.

Does this happen only on full screen mode or always. 1680x1050 would have an impacti f you fullscreen it but otherwise not

The K-Lite pack seems to have solved my problem. Thanks a lot. I was pretty bummed thinking my divx movies were looking so terrible.

Surprisingly, Media Player Classic(not Windows Media Player Classic), it's probably the most minimal player out there. I used to use VLC as well as Zoom, but MPC runs with the least amount of memory.

Yep, but I've gotten used to VLC :) Has a lot of handy options like audio +/- when the audio is not properly synchronized.
