Can any of you recommend a BD player to replace the stock DVD RW drive in the Asus laptops?

Which Asus laptop do you have? The old Asus units uses an IDE interface while the newer ones use SATA.

I got this one for $89 but they don't seem to be readily available anymore. The Sony/NEC Sata drive is about $100 and there are a few slot load drives with no bezel on e-bay in the mid to upper $60s.

i snagged an LG tray loading drive on ebay a couple weeks ago for $69 plus shipping. It is working great so far, snapped the trim cover off the old drive, onto the new drive, and looked totally stock and tested just fine.

Truly awesome isn't it? What software do you use to play the blurays and what seller did you buy the drive from?

    Cheers,

Using a copy of CyberLink DVD that I had from my Toshiba, works great. I found it from a link on here someone posted, maybe even you. I bought it from lets-Win, something like that. Just looked though, and it appears they have raised the price to $99 plus shipping. As mentioned, mine was $69 for the CT-10N
