I'm thinking about upgrading to a blu ray drive. Does anyone know what kind would work on the g60jx and where I could buy one? Thanks.

I remember seeing it on Asus' eShop page, but their page is down for maintenance as of the time I'm writing this. I believe the price was like $225.

Get a PS3 and save yourself the hassle.
Watching Blu-Rays on a 15" 1366x768 screen is not recommended, you definetly won't get the full Blu-Ray experiance out of it.

I already have a ps3 hooked up to my 42". I just wouldn't mind having a portable blu ray player since I already have a decent sized blu ray library.

I just think it would be a waste with the low screen on the G60JX.
If your up for it than go for it.

You also have to consider someone might want to move their ps3 around the house like i do time and time again.

A BD drive in the lappy would be nice so you can simply pick up the laptop and take it in the living room and connect it to the big screen, bluray goodness.

Don't be discouraged from installing a bluray drive in your Asus....I did it in my G72 and it works like a charm. Here's a Youtube video that helped me:

Hope this works out well for you.
