    Question!

I have an ASUS M50VM, with a DVD burner. Is it possible to upgrade to a blu-ray drive? And if so, where does one purchase a replacement optical drive?

    Thanks!

From my own experience its a lot of work to try to find the right internal blu ray drive and the exact bezel plus its expensive. Your best bet is to get an external blu ray player plus your dvd drive is faster in terms of burning speed and writing. You can go on ebay and get a small external that runs off usb in white, black and I think silver, for only a hundred bucks. Just go to ebay and type in external blu ray. Good luck.

    Hi rimmon,

Yes, you can easily swap your current optical drive for a blu-ray drive. I'd suggest getting one from ebay as that would be the cheapest option. Make sure it's a 12.7mm form and uses a SATA interface.
