Yes, it's going to be very difficult to install and you'd void your warranty trying to do it yourself. The motherboard has to be completely removed. This means your notebook will be sitting in pieces on a table to get to the place where it needs to be installed.

10 pieces are coming over and we're going to be testing them towards the end of the month.

    Thanks,

I'm also interested in having bluetooth. Will it be integrated (i.e. come standard on the z70v or will it be an add-on module)? Also, would it be available around the same time as the Intel price change?

It will be a $75-$100 option... I'm leaning more towards the $100 side with the amount of labor that needs to go into it. We're going to have a limited number of them, and after we get rid of those, Asus has to order more for everyone else..... So if they come in before July, they may be gone before any price changes....... but will be back a couple weeks afterwards I'm sure.

    Thanks,
    Justin

That's certainly an idea... but internal is so much cooler and there is already a bluetooth light and hardwired on/off button for it.

Or, you can do what I did... Get a little USB Bluetooth adapter. I bought a Linksys USB BT100 for $40 and it works great on my Z70v.

No doubt, internal BT is way cooler, and safer, too. No risk of accidentally snapping off like my USB adapter. I'll probably look to upgrade to internal BT, later this year.

Yeah.. but for now.. $40 for that adapter isn't bad at all.. and if you don't use it all the time... that's a good option.

Nothing........ our 10 bt modules still haven't hit port yet..... so we haven't tested it yet.

There is not going to be a refresh, but their will be a higher end model (most likely 128mb x700 graphics card)....... but the price should be a bit higher... higher enough to mabye require another model designation and enough to keep the z70v as just a high end model while the other one would be super high end.

Justin, I just read in another thread that the bluetooth is 1.1 in the W3v. Is what you are expecting for the Z70v going to be 1.1 as well?

Through the link posted they have a bluetooth adapter that is internal and included. It's also a Z70v refresh (though it's a preorder).

Keep reading the posts....... all the info is around. The only falsity that is common rumor right now is that asus has confirmed all of this stuff and a price and a date..... right now even a good eta isn't out and they haven't fit an x700 into the unit yet......
