I do currently own a Asus x551ca-hcl1201l notebook and my question is that how do I make the Bluetooth work fine after updating to Windows 8.1? I basically had a problem in the device manager and I uninstalled it and see if it will detect the hardware again but it didn't. I thought maybe it would work fine but when I tried to use Bluetooth on my phone it will connect at all. I did try to remove it and re pair them and it worked but it won't get connected when I try to send a pic from my phone to the notebook. I basically ended up had to recover my system and put back Windows 8 and it works fine but maybe someone here would know how I can fix this problem since I would like to use Windows 8.1 since it's more updated.

Which bluebooth module is being used in your system? Atheros or Ralink?
Can you check it under driver property first to verify?

Mine is the Atheros but maybe the driver is on Asus website for my model but I just don't know which one is for it. I assume that Asus would give updates for this notebook since it's still new. Can you put he model of my notebook on there drivers page and see if you can find the right one on Windows 8.1? The notebook model is x551ca-hcl1201l. But I think you would just type x551ca and should show up.

I see that 166 people have viewed this topic but did people really actually looked at my posts? Or is that not correct info and only few have seen this? Also if it's true info why when 166 people have viewed this topic no one can help me on this? Does anyone have the same notebook and have this problem when upgrading to Windows 8.1? Basically Bluetooth not working right?

I did again try to reinstall Windows 8.1 but same thing happens. I did also see there were windows updates for the Bluetooth after I updated to 8.1 but that didn't fix the problem. I really need help guys but apparently no one knows since no replies. :( I might have to just return the new computer and get a different one unless you guys can help.

Thank you very much it works great now. I wonder why Asus doesn't have that driver for this notebook. Also even Windows updates doesn't have it also. But I wonder how did you guys find it since I tried looking at Atheros website but I didn't know how to get the drivers.

Manufacturers don't update drivers often unless they figure out there's a problem with existing version.
The latest version of drivers can always be obtained directly from station-drivers.com where the link came from.
