    I'm trying to optimize my laptop for best performance and faster boot time and I have a few programs here that I'm not sure I should be running on startup id appreciate it if someone can shine some light:

    Asus Live Update
    Asus Multi Frame
    Nvidia Driver Help Service
    Power for phone
    SM56 Helper WIN32 Uti
    Dmedia
    Nvidia MEdiacenter Library
    Windows Defender

    that should be all of them now

    remove live update
    remove mutifram if you are using vista with aero
    remove power 4 phone unless you want to use your laptop to call
    REMOVE defender at all costs. that program sucks and slows the heck out of your pc. remove norton nis and all that junk. stay away from viruses and use a crap pc for your illegal downloads. one that you wont mind formatting.
