When im using my system (F3Sv-B1) with the battery, every minute, my brightness setting will reset itself. I normally have the display set to 20% brightness. All of a sudden the display will jump back upto full brightness. I can change it back, but it will again jump back up a minute later. Sometimes this time period extends to 2 or 3 minutes.

-This only happens while using it with the battery
-Happens with all my drivers (default drivers, 162.50, and 163.44)
-Happens in any power setting (battery saving, and high performance are the settings i most commonly use)

    Any help would be appreciated...thanks

Do you have any automatic brightness controls setup? Not sure if that laptop has it but on my mom's computer when on battery it will adjust the brightness with some sensor or something to what it thinks is best and if you're in a well lit environment full brightness might seem best to your computer?

Did what the Asus Customer Officer advised me, reinstall ATK utilities and Power4Gear, but still cannot fix the problem... really annoying

I had the problem, too, and it was because of the unsupportet graphics driver. Now I got the Asus drivers again and it doesn't reset the brightness anymore.

I would also say it's the ATK/ACPI drivers. Try using a different (newer, older) version from what you have, if the reinstall didn't work. See support.asus.com for downloading other versions.,

Next step is to recover the entire Windows.

I'm having the same problem, but it only started after I installed new video drivers from laptopvideo2go so I'm sure it has something to do with drivers.

This suggests a bad interplay between video and ACPI drivers. I suggest rolling back to stock video and ACPI drivers.

Do you think the (doubtful?) improvement in real-life performance corresponding to those 100 points is worth the annoyance of having the brightness resetting every two minutes? If so, keep the new drivers :)
