I believe the key clip for my 'k' key broke while I was removing it to get a crumb that fell underneath it. I don't know exactly what I did to break it but I can't get the key back in the top two clips. I probably bent it out of shape or something, very stupid on my part...

So I gave Asus a call and he told me it's not covered under my warranty and to purchase a new one for $20 through their e-store.

Should I replace it myself or send it to Asus (would have to pay labor fee)? Is it hard to do it yourself? And is there some type of guide/tutorial with images that can walk me through it?

It is very easy on most laptops. Even mine, which is ridiculously complicated for this type of thing (There is one hole [ONE!! out of like 400] in the speakers that you can to thrust a pen into and slide the speaker plate off, then you can lift out the keyboard, no joke, I have really had to do that). So yeah, you can do it yourself, even the most complicated are pretty simple.

Alright, just ordered the keyboard. Hopefully this doesn't end in disaster.

    It shouldn't.

    For most ASUS notebooks:
Find on the belly of the notebook screws marked "K >". Unscrew them.
Find plastic latches along top of keyboard, push keyboard plate under them to release it.
    Lift keyboard top towards user.
Unlock the keyboard connector by pulling upwards.
    Remove the keyboard.
