How does the Z96J build quality compare with Sager laptops ? Vs Compal( http://www.powernotebooks.com/product.php?itemId=1480 ) ?
    Especially keyboard.

Also, is the Z96J robust to shocks ? The thinkpads have some shock protection, but never heard about it for Asus ? Or are asus laptops not meant to be moved around ?
    I'm looking for a 4 year life.

depends which Asus we're talking about.. there's a difference in the materials used between BoA models and Ensembles. If anything, I think it's best to compare Compal and Sager with Built-on Asus, rather than the Ensembles.

himm in that case, you have the 96J, the HEL80 and the Sager 5320? which are the models most similar for comparison.
I believe Powernotebooks has experience with all 3 models and MilestonePC (sells both Asus and Compal) could give you some feed back on their builds.

The Sager NP5320 has been discontinued so a better comparison might be the NP5750.

The build quality is similar on all 3 brand's models mentioned.

What about the "build quality" of the keyboard are you looking for. Just so you know, there are only less than a handful of keyboard manufacturers for laptops, so there is usually not a lot of difference on the high end models being discussed here.
